Mark E. Stamelos is a partner in King & Ballow's Litigation section and head of the firm’s Family Law section. 

Mr. Stamelos has experience representing employers against all types of employment-related claims in state and federal courts around the country, including claims involving Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act as well as various state employment-related claims.  Mr. Stamelos also represents local and national companies in commercial-related disputes and premises liability matters. 

In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Stamelos regularly counsels clients regarding their employment practices and policies. Mr. Stamelos has drafted and reviewed employers’ handbooks, policy manuals, non-competition and confidentiality agreements and employment contracts in an effort to help his clients avoid the numerous pitfalls contained in various employment laws and regulations and to help his clients protect their valuable business interests.  Mr. Stamelos has also been an employment law speaker and has presented at seminars covering a vast range of employment law-related topics. Mr. Stamelos also devotes his time to representing individuals in divorce, child custody and other family-law related matters.           

Prior to joining King & Ballow, Mr. Stamelos was a federal judicial clerk for United States District Court Judge Elizabeth V. Hallanan, in the Southern District of West Virginia.  Mr. Stamelos is a graduate of Capital University Law School. He is admitted to practice in Tennessee and California.
