R. Eddie Wayland
is a partner at King k Ballow and he
supervises the firm's Litigation Section. Mr. Wayland has argued before the
United States Supreme Court, as well as numerous courts of appeal. He has
litigated hundreds of jury and non-jury cases to conclusion before federal
and state courts, arbitrators and administrative agencies in over 30
states.
Mr. Wayland concentrates his practice in the
representation of management in all areas of employment and labor relations
law. He has been listed for over 15 years in the book The Best Lawyers in
America in the area of Labor and Employment Law. Mr. Wayland has
also been listed in every edition of the book Chambers USA
America's Leading Business Lawyers. In addition, he
was selected as one of the Top 150 Lawyers in the State of Tennessee by both Business Tennessee magazine and by Mid-South Super Lawyers magazine.
Mr. Wayland also represents media,
entertainment, and other clients in defamation, privacy, intellectual
property and related areas. He was listed in the book The Best Lawyers in
America in the area of First Amendment Law.
Mr. Wayland further represents numerous
trucking companies, logistics companies and other transportation industry
related companies throughout the United States. He serves as the
outside General Counsel for the Truckload Carriers Association. Mr. Wayland
is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the
Transportation Law area.
Mr. Wayland has twice been selected Chairman
of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Tennessee Bar Association. Eddie is a frequent
speaker on employment law issues and provides in-house training in these
areas. Among his other publications, Mr. Wayland is co-author of the Americans with
Disabilities Act Compliance Guidebook, was a contributing
author for The Developing Labor Law, and was founder and
editor of the TBA Labor Letter.
Mr. Wayland received his law degree from the
University of Tennessee College of Law,
graduating Order of the Coif, with high honors, and served as Articles
Editor for the Tennessee Law Review. He graduated with
highest honors from the University
of Tennessee with a
degree in Business Administration.
